Cars kill more kids on Halloween than Registered Sex Offenders, so we should ban Trunk or Treat

Over the past few years, we see the barrage of Halloween stories designed to scare the people in a different way. There was no shortage of news stories warning parents to check the registry before they send their kids out trick-or-treating. Still, there has not been a “stereotypical kidnapping” of a child by a “Registered Sex Offender” on Halloween so long as the registry has existed. In 2014, no child was murdered by a Registered Sex Offender. Full Blog Item

98%+ of those who commit sexual offenses are not into killing people. If the worry was about sex offenders killing people then some priorities are extremely screwed up.

Eric Fien, who was on the lose after allegedly killing a cop and wounding another, was on the run for many weeks. He was captured alive the day before Halloween. The community banned Halloween while he was on the run.

They knew he was targeting cops and not any other civilians. He was not considered a true danger to civilians. If he was, he would have killed or harmed more people in a short amount of time.

Meanwhile, this Halloween like many before it, there are hit and runs, car accidents and other issues such as drugs showing up in kids candies collected. This year at Halloween there were 3 kids killed in Santa Ana area, where i live there was another killed others hit in hit and run. Yet.. nothing is mentioned about doing something to protect the kids. (Banning Halloween may sound a bit extreme, but we must go to extremes to protect children, right?.. right?)

Anyway, here we are in a situation where kids are not harmed by those on the registry on Holloween, ever to my knowledge and yet registered persons are singled out and shunned and rights violated. Meanwhile we have actual killings by non-registered persons during these hit and runs, drunk drivers etc that are really physically happening. With evidence and stuff. You know, the very thing you need to make a point and prove that laws need to happen to protect people.

I guess i can’t really make myself much clearer.

How many cops were diverted into monitoring the residences of registrants, taking them away from potentially preventing any vehicular accidents? Obviously, it is a question that we can never know, BUT…”If it saves ONE Child….”
